SPECIAL TRANSIT SERVICE

SPECIAL TRANSIT 4880 Pearl St., 303-447-9636. Nonprofit organization offering specialized wheelchair-accessible transit services to Boulder County seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income and rural residents. Service in Boulder and Longmont is available Mon.-Fri. 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m., with limited weekend service in Boulder. For service in Allenspark, Broomfield, Lafayette, Louisville, Lyons, Nederland and unincorporated areas, call for hours. Reservations accepted Mon.-Fri. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on a first-called, first-served, space-available basis. Fares are $1.50 per one-way trip for in-town service and $3 per one-way trip between cities in Boulder County. Individuals unable to pay are not denied service. Reduced fare passes are available through the Special Transit office.
